Watfords of Wombwell completed the extension and alterations to the existing medium Secure Mental Health Unit on an existing live hospital complex. The scheme is principally to provide additional administration accommodation also to convert the existing patient rooms into ensuite facilities.

The traditional constructioned extension, included cavity brick and block walls, with a tiled roof. In order to comply with the current mental health regulations, the bedrooms with en-suite facilities, included all anti-ligature ironmongery and fittings, together with motion controlled lighting and extract and automatic taps to wash the hand basin.

The James Totty Partnership was the Principal Architect involved with the £900,000 project for Rotherham, Doncaster & South Humber Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust which was completed in June 2009.
